The Imo State Polytechnic, Umuagwo held her 2017 convocation ceremony yesterday, 24th February with a long list of distinguished guests in attendance including the Imo state Governor, His Excellency Rochas Okorocha who is the Visitor to the institution; his wife, First lady of Imo state Her Excellency Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha; the Deputy Governor of Imo state, Prince Eze Madumere; the Chief of staff Imo state, Chief Uche Nwosu; the Secretary to the Federal Government of Nigeria, Engineer Mr. Babachir David Lawal, former SSG Imo State, Chief Jude Ejiogu; popular business mogul and contractor, Chief Emeka Offor and many more.
Information gathered by Imsugist.com has it that the wife of Imo State Governor and the Secretary to the Federal government were honoured as Fellows of the Polytechnic while Chief Emeka Ofor was named the chairman of the governing council of the Polytechnic.

The Imo State Government press reported the SGF Engr. Babachir Lawal to have preached peace and university at the government house chapel, Owerri before his confinement as a Fellow of the Imo state polytechnic. He has said that their are 5 Pastors in the President Muhammadu Buhari led Federal Executive Council and frowned at clergymen preaching hate instead of love.
