Candidates With Higher Marks Gains Admission First - JAMB Boss
The Joint Admission Matriculation Board [JAMB] Registrar has notified the general public that candidates with Higher Marks will be considered for admission first during the 2017/2018 admission exercise.
According to the Registrar, The 120 cut off mark doesn't mean an automatic ticket for admission.
Institutions will still admit using established criteria of merit and others.
JAMB also introduced the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) to streamline admission exercise & give candidates the right to track admission
It will be recalled that on Tuesday the Board officially pegged the cutoff mark for all tertiary institutions.
Though some associations like Vice Chancellors, ASUU and NANS has shown disappointment with the recent cutoff saying that it will lower the standard of admission in all institutions.
Prof. Oloyede reacting to some protest on the said cutoff marks has made it clear that the cutoff points its just a National cutoff as institutions are allowed to raise the points to their choice but wont go lower than the prescribed National admission cutoff mark.
The admission closing date for all tertiary institution for 2017/18 has also been announced.
