Alvan Ikoku Owerri Embarks On Indefinite Strike, Blames Acting Provost
Although the Acting Provost of Alvan Ikoku College of Education (AICE) Owerri, Dr Dan Anyanwu could not be reached at the time of filing this Report, the members of the four House Unions of the College have embarked on an indefinitely Strike using Dr. Anyanwu as an excuse.
The four House Unions of the College halted Academic Activities on Wednesday, March 28, 3017 by carrying out a massive protest, chanting Solidarity Songs.
The Joint Action Committee Chairman of the Institution, Dr Benjamin Nwokedi told the Press that the refusal of the Acting Provost, Dr Dan Anyanwu to vacate his Seat and implement the Abuja Accord, led to the crisis.
He advised the entire Staff to proceed on an indefinite strike as was agreed to by the House Union until the right thing was done. Other members of the Unions Executive expressed their grievances and called for the right thing to be done as agreed.
