Who would replace them when they've gone out of active academic lecturing must be the obvious reason for the choice of young Prof. Martins Uchenna as new Dean of student affairs.
Professor Bertram Ekejiuba Bright Nwoke is a Professor of Public Health, Parasitology and Entomology. He is one of the longest serving principal officers in Imo State University, he has served for 37 years and still counting. He started his lecturing career in Imo state university in 1981.
Prof. B.E.B Nwoke fondly addressed as "Mbazuigwe" translated means "Axe" has served as Dean in the faculty of Sciences for about 4 tenures. He is a scientist of International repute. A former Acting Vice Chancellor and current Deputy Vice Chancellor (DVC Administration) of Imo State University. He is a Consultant to many international organizations like WHO and UNICEF.
Other portfolios he has served include: 2 times Coordinator of School of Biological Sciences, 4 times Dean, Faculty of Science, 2 times Dean, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, 5 times member of Imo State University Governing Council.
More positions include - 2 times Board member of Imo State University Teaching Hospital, pioneer Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Acting Vice Chancellor and current Deputy Vice Chancellor (DVC Administration) of Imo State University.
Prof Nwoke has strongly contributed to academic growth as well as excellent research and learning in the University. He is fully packaged, lively and a God fearing person.
